A Case of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura with Scrotal Swelling

Abstract
The vasculitis of henoch-Sch nlein purpura may rarely involve the scrotum and clinically mimic diseases requiring surgical intervention, such as testicular torsion. Its is necessary to diagnose underlying cause of scrotal swelling early and
accurately.
Recently, the findings of ultrasonogram and color doppler imaging(CDI) help clinicians to make correct diagnoses and prevent unnecessary surgical exporation.
A 4-year-old boy had Henoch-Sch nlein purpura with scrotal swelling. Skin biopsy showed leukocytoclastic vasculitis and subepidermal blister. Examination of ultrasonography and CDI demonstrated normal symmetrical flow in the vessels of the both
testicles, which helped us to exclude the possibility of testicular torsion. With conservative treatment the patient's clinical condition resolved.
